Job fair for veterans Nov. 17 in Bellport

If you know a vet in need of work, share this post with them.

The Economic Opportunity Council of Suffolk County is co-hosting a career fair Nov. 17 at the Boys and Girls Club of Bellport at 471 Atlantic Avenue.

The event runs from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. (flyer below) and is being run in conjunction with the Bellport Alliance and the Boys and Girls Club.

And it’s veterans-only from 10 to 11 a.m.

The vets are encouraged to dress to impress and bring multiple copies of their resumés — and be ready for immediate feedback, the organizers said.

In the meantime, prospective employers are being called upon to participate.

“The purpose of this event is to connect you, the employer, with potential candidates, our veterans.

“These are men and women who have served our country and are looking to work for that same country they worked so hard to defend,” reads a release about the event.

The Bellport Veterans Community Job Fair will be held in the Boys and Girls Club gymnasium. Employers should fill out the below questionnaire and return it phuntley@eoc-suffolk.com by Nov. 11.
