20 Photos | Alive After Five is back for 2016 in Patchogue Village

The summer’s first Alive After Five festival was held in downtown Patchogue Thursday evening.

A Salute to our Armed Forces was the theme, and the festival was highlighted by a big showing by the U.S. Army Recruiting Office on East Main Street.

The Army called in its nationally known West Point Band for the affair. Among the 13 band members was Staff Sgt. Jeremy Gaynor, who appeared on NBC’s The Voice last year.

Kilwins Chocolates and Patchogue-Medford Library also ran ice cream-eating contests for kids in the family section at Capital One Plaza.

The second Alive After Five of summer is Thursday, July 21.

Riverhead is hosting a sister festival called Alive on 25 next Thursday, July 14, in its downtown.
