Calendar Roundup | It’s an eclectic weekend for events in Greater Patchogue

GBSN_flyer

There are a whopping 15 items and counting on the greaterpatchogue.com calendar for this weekend, each one quite different from the next.

Below are just a few.

For one, it’s the first weekend of the much-anticipated Gateway production of Priscilla Queen of the Desert.  This is the show’s Long Island debut and we’re told it is wild. Not only that, Gateway’s Wizard of Oz children’s show is now running Fridays and Saturdays through Aug. 6 in Patchogue.

(Check the schedule because you don’t want to bring your kids to the wrong show. Trust us.)

It’s also the return of Mrs. Sizzle’s Dogs Night out in Bellport Village, where at 6 p.m. on Friday people from the village and the surrounding areas will be lining Main Street with their pups to watch a dog parade.

The event coincides with the National Clear the Shelters Day movement.

That same night (Friday), there’s a Ghostbusters Sketch Night at Brickhouse Brewery, where people are invited to draw live models dressed as characters from the movie, with professional costumes and more.

The drawing night will also feature The New Ghostbusters of Long Island. (You have to click that link.)

All day Saturday at the Brookhaven Amphitheater is the big Marco Polo Pool Party starring rapper Ja Rule and Ashanti, an R&B singer and Long Island native (Glen Cove). This is being run by The Emporium and is 21 and over only.

Then on Saturday night you can drive directly from the pool party in Farmingville to 89 North in downtown Patchogue in time for Pink Floyd and Genesis tribute bands to take the stage.

Enjoy, and be sure to always check out our packed calendar to see what’s going on!
