10 Photos: Saturday’s Angels of Long Island Fall Festival in Hagerman Park

The Angels of Long Island held its first-ever Family Fall Festival Saturday in Hagerman Park in East Patchogue.

The Fall Fest drew hundreds to the park in support of the Angels, a nonprofit organization that helps families in temporary need through its 37,000-strong Facebook group.

Debbie Loesch and her daughter Brittany, both of Bellport, started the group in September 2015 and its membership quickly grew. The members rally with food, clothing, furniture, formula or whatever is needed for a family they learn might have fallen on hard times.

“We recently got a trailer [to hold donated materials] and we need to renovate it,” said Debbie Loesch. “So events like these are important to keep overhead costs low and keep us going through the winter. We really couldn’t survive without them.”
